Gold Silver Time 2015
October 1-3, there was another edition of the Gold Silver Time fair. This year, due to a rift in the industry, the event was held in a new location – the exhibition hall on Mars Street 56c.
Personally, I think that despite the worries, the rift brought much good: the competition has forced the organizers of the Gold Silver Time to make the changes that should have been made a long time ago. There is a more modern website, the new visual identity of the event was ensured and the brand appeared in social-media.
The new location also motivated the participants of the fair to change: 70-year-old awfully- smelling glass cases disappeared from the Gallery of Designers and in their place appeared unified stands. The hall was not as overloaded as last year – thus contributing to the visibility of small entrepreneurs who before had disappeared amidst thick competition.
As in previous editions, this year the event was accompanied by several extremely interesting exhibitions in the field of artistic jewelery. My attention was drawn to the title Od ozdoby do komunikatu (From the ornaments to the message) containing the selected works of over 50 artists from the country and the world. Jewellery exhibited at the show came from the permanent collection of Contemporary Goldsmithery Arts belonging to the Art Gallery in Legnica.
It has already become a tradition that together with the Gold Silver Time a competition is organized for creators of jewelery under the title Presentations. For several years, the artists have been trying in the most creative way possible to answer the topic proposed by the organizers Goldsmithing Artists’ Association. This time the theme of the contest was a Circus.
The novelty was a competition organized among others by the National Guild of Craftsmen Artists under the title Master Gold, Silver and Master Master 3D space. The form of the event was quite experimental: the participants could submit their jewelry to only one of the three selected categories. Formed jury was supposed to select the most interesting works that in the next stage were to be put to the vote by the audience on Facebook. Also in this case a motto of the contest was established, which was Change.
I am pleased to inform you about my personal success – I was able to win the title Master of 3D Space and reward in the form 3DESIGN license program, which was sponsored by PAT company from Czestochowa. I am therefore very pleased.
At the fair you could stock up on scientific materials which are hard to be found in the bookstore: in the photo a guide by Andrzej Bandkowski Art Jewelry – manufacturing course which is the latest and one of the most extensive, richly illustrated, and most of all, Polish-language publications on the techniques of jewelery.
At the end, a small analysis of the products presented at the fair, compiled by me in four trends:
